Sarathi strongly believes that Information and its conversion into Knowledge is a powerful tool to empower rural and marginalized community. But, at the same time, there is a need to recognize the knowledge reservoir already existing with cultural heritage. They are not always the recipients of knowledge but also the creators. Education through cultural media is the single most important means to fight poverty, illiteracy and other social menaces.

Since inception, Sarathi Jhalak has conducted several workshops and awareness programmes for both development sector and government Departments. Sarathi is closely associated with art, culture, literature and issue based NGOs, which has enabled it to seamlessly and creatively combine the twin worlds of development and art.
